Wan Hai and partners starting another Far East/Chennai link Taiwan’s Wan Hai Lines said today it is partnering with compatriot Cheng Lie Navigation (CNC Line), now owned by France’s CMA CGM, and Singapore-based Sea Consortium, to start in September a joint service between North China and Southeast Asia and the Indian port of Chennai.
   The North China to Chennai (NCC) service will use four 1,700-TEU vessels with a port rotation of Qingdao, Lianyungang, Shanghai, Singapore, Port Kelang, Chennai, Port Kelang, Singapore, Hong Kong and back to Qingdao.
   The service will compete against a joint service starting in early August from Hyundai Merchant Marine, Tokyo Senpaku Kaisha (TSK Line) and Bengal Tiger Line using similar sized ships to the NCC that will call Ulsan, Busan, Shanghai, Chiwan, Singapore, Port Kelang, Chennai, Port Kelang and Ulsan.
