Contanda bulking up Houston presence

The bulk liquid storage and logistics services provider is building a storage terminal along the Houston Ship Channel.    Contanda Terminals LLC, a provider of bulk liquid storage and logistics services in North America, plans to build a storage terminal on its property along the Houston Ship Channel to support its expansion into the petrochemical and hydrocarbon storage markets.
Construction on the Contanda Houston Jacintoport Terminal is scheduled to start in October, and the new facility is expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2019.
The Contanda Houston Jacintoport Terminal will provide up to 3 million barrels of additional petrochemical and hydrocarbon storage capacity, a deepwater ship dock, two barge docks, as well as truck and rail infrastructure.
Contanda awarded the contract to upgrade the existing ship dock to Channelview, Texas-based Russell Marine LLC. The dock expansion will take about 12 months to complete and will support vessels with drafts up to 40 feet.
In addition to the Contanda Houston Jacintoport Terminal, the Contanda Houston Greens Bayou Terminal, formally referred to as Houston 4, is under commercial development and is expected to be operational in 2021 to support the petrochemical and refined products industries.
Contanda currently has 14 terminals across North America that collectively provide about 7.25 million barrels of storage capacity.
