Report: Hamburg investors bid more than NOL for Hapag-Lloyd

Report: Hamburg investors bid more than NOL for Hapag-Lloyd Financial Times Deutschland is reporting that a group of investors from Hamburg have outbid NOL for Hapag Lloyd.
   German tourism company TUI AG is seeking to sell Hapag-Lloyd, and the German business paper said the Hamburg investors have offered more than 4 billion euros ($5.7 billion) while NOL, the parent of container carrier APL, has offered 3.5 billion euros ($5 billion).
   Reportedly the Hamburg consortium includes investors such as the investment bank M.M. Warburg, the city of Hamburg, HSH Nordbank, the insurance companies Signal Iduna and Hanse Merkur, as well as Klaus-Michael Kuehne, who is also head of Swiss logistics company Kuehne + Nagel, but who is acting as a private investor with regard to his interest in buying Hapag-Lloyd.
