Davies Turner to increase capacity to Romania, Bulgaria    Davies Turner, a U.K.-based freight forwarder, is increasing its services to Romania and Bulgaria, ahead of the two countries’ entry into the European Union on Jan. 1.
   In addition to full and part loads on demand, Davies Turner is boosting its scheduled direct groupage services to twice weekly with departures from the United Kingdom every Tuesday and Friday.
   From January, the company will offer guaranteed next-day deliveries throughout both countries from arrival at its main distribution hubs in each country. Davies Turner partners with Gebr'der Weiss in Central Europe, which has its own purpose built consolidation facilities in Romania and Bulgaria.
   “The U.K. is among the most important trading partners of both Romania and Bulgaria, and we believe EU accession will provide further opportunities for two-way trade,” said Philip Stephenson, joint managing director of Davies Turner. “In particular, we anticipate that Romania’s textile, footwear and furniture industries will continue to grow. These sectors have long been the bedrock for our full and part load services in this trade and we have already responded with more capacity to meet increased demand.”
   Davies Turner Air Cargo Ltd., also provides air freight services between the United Kingdom and Romania and Bulgaria.
