ePay will allow BNSF customers to order cars, receive billing instructions, provide car-switching information, track shipments and pay for cars on the BNSF web site. Future functions will include printable BNSF freight bills, a management tool for the billing and payment of miscellaneous bills and a search tool for matching freight and miscellaneous bills to shipments.
BNSF launched a pilot of the system earlier this year. “We recently added a dispute resolution function that made the tool even more valuable,” said Todd Olsen, assistant vice president of finance and information systems planning at BNSF.
