QuestaWeb to use FedEx customs content

The global trade management software provider will allow users to tap into FedEx Trade Network’s WorldTariff data for HTS, FTA and denied party screening.    The global trade management software provider QuestaWeb and FedEx’s freight forwarding division will partner to offer QuestaWeb customers access to FedEx Trade Networks’ compliance content.
   Importers and exporters using QuestaWeb will get access to compliance data covering more than 175 customs areas globally from FedEx WorldTariff. The information will be compiled and updated daily for use in worldwide logistics operations.
   
   The content now available to QuestaWeb customers includes:
     • Complete harmonized tariff schedules, including detailed tariff descriptions and fully qualified tariff codes;
     • Comprehensive global free trade agreement information;
     • Denied party screening;
     • Most Favored Nation (MFN) applied duty rates, plus origin-to-destination preferential duty rates;
     • And other import taxes, including value added tax (VAT), excise taxes and miscellaneous border taxes.

   “QuestaWeb is currently adapting its technology to offer the content in new and innovative ways for its customers,” the company said. “FedEx Trade Network Trade Services may also license the information directly to QuestaWeb customers at their option.”
   GTM software providers are increasingly focusing on trade data elements to bolster their applications, whether through partnerships (like the QuestaWeb-FedEx tie-up), acquisitions (like Descartes’ purchases of CustomsInfo for customs content and MK Data for denied party screening) or in-house development of content teams.
