AA Cargo launches Los Angeles-Sao Paulo service

   American Airlines Cargo announced yesterday it will begin offering widebody cargo service from Los Angeles to Sao Paulo on a Boeing 777-200 ER. Service departing Sao Paulo begins Dec. 18.
   The new service provides customers with a fourth gateway to Sao Paulo. Currently, American offers service between Sao Paulo and Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami, JFK and Los Angeles. Primary exports from Asia into Brazil will include automotive parts, equipment and infrastructure for mobile networks, and international mail, while perishables, leather and aircraft parts are expected to be the major exports from Brazil.
   “We’re excited to begin offering this new service, and we expect it to be a great opportunity for our customers moving freight from Asia to Brazil,” stated Jim Butler, president of American Airlines Cargo. “This new service is just another way we’re growing our global network and continuing to provide our customers with more options for shipping.”
   American will begin offering widebody service between Dallas/Fort Worth and Hong Kong as well as Dallas/Fort Worth and Shanghai in June 2014.
