K + N opens Chongqing office

K + N opens Chongqing office    Kuehne + Nagel said Wednesday it has opened a new branch office in Chongqing in central China.
   It brings the number of K + N locations in China to 39. Chongqing, China's largest and most populous metropolitan region, is a hub of automotive and industrial manufacturing and a growing consumer market.
   The region was served through the company's office in Chengdu.
   'With the opening of the new location the company is following the market trend to increasingly explore opportunities made possible by moving inland' in China, K + N said. 'Chongqing enjoys continuous investment from industry and trade, which in turn leads to ever-increasing demand for quality logistics services. From the new premises, located at the central business district in close proximity to the city's major infrastructure facilities, Kuehne + Nagel will focus on providing international sea and air logistics services. In addition, it will offer specialized solutions to support the automotive and industrial goods and chemicals sectors, two of the main pillars of the city's economic development.'
