Over half of PSA’s throughput was achieved at its flagship Singapore terminals, which witnessed growth of 8.1 percent to 22.28 million TEUs, from 20.6 million in 2004.
PSA could overtake Hutchison Port Holding’s as the world’s largest port operator if it is successful with a recent '3.5 billion ($6.2 billion) takeover approach for the P&O Group. PSA is facing competition for P&O from Dubai state-owned DP World. PSA itself is owned by the Singapore government-controlled Temasek Holdings.
