Etihad Cargo strengthens presence in Europe

With the addition of the East Midlands Airport, the London Stansted Airport and the Copenhagen Airport, Etihad Cargo now has nine freighter destinations in Europe.    Etihad Cargo has started operating Boeing 777 freighters from the East Midlands Airport and the London Stansted Airport in the United Kingdom, and Denmark’s Copenhagen Airport.
   The new routes were added last month, the airline said.
   “Manufacturers in the UK and Denmark can now get their merchandise to their customers in the Middle East even faster, in as little as 24 hours in some cases,” Etihad Cargo Senior Vice President David Kerr said.
   With these new routes, Etihad Cargo now has nine freighter destinations in Europe. The airline was already operating maindeck capacity from Amsterdam, Frankfurt (Frankfurt Main and Frankfurt-Hahn), Milan, Brussels and Zaragoza, as well as belly capacity on its passenger flights from the continent.
   Etihad Cargo was established in 2004 and is a division of Etihad Airways. Complementing the belly-hold capacity on its passenger fleet of over 100 aircraft, the airline operates 10 dedicated freighters that fly on scheduled services, which in addition to Europe, serve North America, South America, Asia, Australia, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent and Africa.
