Del Monte to use GT Nexus for visibility

The major U.S. food manufacturer implemented GT Nexus’ platform in concert with its transition to SAP’s ERP system as it sought to get deeper visibility into its extended supply chain.    Del Monte Foods this week began using the global commerce platform GT Nexus to improve supply chain visibility and collaboration, the technology company said.
   Del Monte is one of the United States’ largest producers, distributors and marketers of branded and private label food products, overseeing brands such as Del Monte, Contadina, College Inn, and S&W.
   The company implemented GT Nexus in concert with its deployment of SAP’s enterprising resource planning system
   “Our enterprise supply chain strategy requires seeing well beyond the walls of our business, into the supply network,” said Mitch Hunter, director of supply chain at Del Monte Foods. “GT Nexus provided timely and effective implementation support in our conversion to SAP. They were able to maintain our coverage during a very tight transition timeline.”
   GT Nexus provides a cloud-based, multi-tenant global visibility solution that is built upon the idea of connecting suppliers, data and movement of goods in a central hub that is viewable across internal departments and external partners.
   “Consumer goods manufacturers like Del Monte are laser focused on assuring quality and on-time delivery of products by shoring up their supply chains,” said Sean Feeney, chief executive officer of GT Nexus. “Del Monte has the tools to know when shipments will arrive at a certain spot in the supply chain and make adjustments, if necessary, to meet customer needs.”
   GT Nexus was acquired by the ERP provider Infor last month.
