Conway named XLA head
The Express Delivery & Logistics Association has named Jim Conway executive director.
'His appointment underscores our commitment to membership value through effective advocacy and representation before all the key government audiences that impact the global express transportation, logistics and mail industry,' said John Costanzo, XLA chairman and president of Purolator USA, in a statement.
Conway was vice president of government affairs for the Direct Marketing Association. He started his career 25 years ago as a legislative assistant to former Sen. Jacob Javits, R-N.Y., and became a corporate labor relations attorney with Gulf Oil Corp. in Houston and worked part time as a courier for Network Courier from Hobby Airport.
Conway has also served in legislative and government affairs positions with the National Association of Manufacturers and Siemens Corp.
