EGL cleared to contract with U.S. government agencies    The U.S. Army has entered an agreement with Eagle Global Logistics to lift a recently imposed suspension against the Houston-based company from contracting with any agency of the federal government.
   “Applications on which EGL is a party to the transaction will no longer be denied solely on the basis of EGL’s participation,” said the State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls in a statement Monday.
   In mid-December, EGL settled a war risk surcharge case by paying $4 million to the federal government. EGL was served an administrative subpoena by the Defense Department in 2004 alleging the company had submitted unwarranted war risk surcharges to its customer and Defense contractor Kellogg, Brown & Root.
   EGL cooperated with the investigation and fired two employees who were found by the company to be involved in the misconduct.
