Emirates SkyCargo increases China capacity 50%    Emirates SkyCargo has increased its payload capacity to Shanghai by 50 percent by introducing two extra weekly flights to the city and introducing larger aircraft to its existing services.
   The additional freighter schedule includes departures every Tuesday and Friday from Dubai to Shanghai, with departures from the Chinese city every Wednesday and Saturday. Emirates SkyCargo has also replaced one of its two Boeing 747-200 freighter aircraft with a 747-400F plane, which has an extra 15 tons of capacity at 120 tons, to its existing flights.
   “China is a key route for Emirates SkyCargo as the country has a strategic trade partnership with the UAE, valued at $2 billion in 2004,” said Hiran Perera, Emirates’ vice president cargo-freighters.
   “We transport Chinese goods to Dubai and worldwide, especially to South Africa, Uganda, Turkey, Germany, and other countries in the Middle East, such as Saudi Arabia. We are confident that our new freighter services will help alleviate capacity constraints on this key trade route for the rest of the world,” Perera added.
   Emirates SkyCargo said it offers more than 2,000 tons of capacity every week to and from China.
