Company unveils container designs for steel    Finnish company Langh Ship Cargo Solutions has unveiled new sorts of containers for transporting steel.
   By allowing transportation of big steel coils and long steel products in normal container ships, it says it can bring savings to shippers.
   “During the economic downturn, which has also affected the steel market, the transported steel volumes have decreased. Transportation of steel as bulk cargo in the cargo hold of the vessel does not guarantee the customer sufficient delivery frequency with smaller quantities,” the company said. “This is why there clearly is a need for unitizing steel.
   “The problem is, however, the requirements that the high weight of steel puts on the transportation units,” said Langh, adding that the special containers have a high carrying capacity suitable for heavy cargo and special securing methods, which ensure that round and heavy steel coils remain safely in place.
