Cloud-given voice in the warehouse

   Vangard Voice Systems and BellHawk Systems Corp. have announced a joint collaboration effort to create a set of voice-directed productivity enhancements to cloud-based warehouse management systems, manufacturing and supply chain management solutions.
   The partnership will focus on Vangard’s cloud-based mobile voice service built for hands-free voice productivity to mid-sized industrial organizations such as manufacturers and food processors.
   The WMS service, built on BellHawk’s existing offering, will provide voice-directed receiving, picking, and materials movement, without requiring a large infrastructure investment. It relies on BellHawk’s current RFID and Web-based mobile barcode tracking operations but can now add in voice commands and information calls.
   Bob Bova, Vangard’s president and chief executive officer, said the “ innovative mobile voice solution completely avoids the IT server, delivering seamless integration and complete voice functionality to any industry mobile application, solely on-and-from the mobile device.”
   The first functionality providing by the service will cover receiving, production, order picking, manufacturing, and shipping.
