Hawkins appointed VP operations for Donjon-SMIT    Donjon-SMIT has named Paul Hawkins vice president of operations.
   The joint venture company was formed Dec. 31 by marine salvage and casualty response companies Donjon Marine Co. in Hillside, N.J. and SMIT Americas, based in Houston, specifically for compliance and response services that comply with the 1990 Oil Pollution Act.
   Prior to joining Donjon-SMIT, Hawkins served as deputy assistant administrator for the U.S. Transportation Security Administration’s Intermodal Programs Office in Washington. He has more than 20 years of management and supervisory experience with the federal government and private industry, including emergency response management with both the U.S. Navy Supervisor of Salvage and Alyeska Pipeline Service Co.
