Support for interchange for Jasper, S.C. port    The Jasper Ocean Terminal Joint Project Office is supporting a new interchange on Interstate 95 in Jasper County, S.C., near where a major new container facility is planned.
   Reports from the Charleston, S.C. Port and Courier and other newspapers said the Jasper board, which includes members appointed by the governors of both Georgia and South Carolina, put the cost of the interchange at $122 million. The board will seek more than $68 million in funding from South Carolina’s infrastructure bank and $53 million in local money.
   Last fall the two states formed the Joint Project Office to oversee construction of a new container terminal that would be located on the South Carolina side of the Savannah River, downstream from the existing port in Savannah.
