Joseph, 49, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine. He was arrested in Miami in April on a federal indictment charging him with aiding and abetting the attempted export of stolen motor vehicles through the Port of Jacksonville.
According to the plea agreement, starting in February 2007 Joseph allegedly began receiving stolen vehicles for his co-defendant, Osarobo George Omorose, at Cargo Maritime Services in Miami. After receiving the stolen vehicles, Joseph made arrangements to ship them from Jacksonville to Nigeria.
O’Neill said Omorose's case is set for trial next month.
