Dachser acquires majority stake in Johnston Logistics

Kempten, Germany-based global logistics provider Dachser said the acquisition allows it to expand and strengthen its logistics network throughout northwestern Europe.    Global logistics provider Dachser has become a majority shareholder of its Irish partner Johnston Logistics Ltd.
   Dachser said the acquisition allows it to expand and strengthen its logistics network throughout northwestern Europe.
   “Ireland’s tremendous economic growth makes it a key logistics region,” said Wolfgang Reinel, Managing Director of European Logistics for North-Central Europe at Dachser. “This purchase allows us to offer our customers the entire range of high-quality services that Dachser is renowned for.”
   Albert Johnston, co-founder of Johnston Logistics, will remain a shareholder and Managing Director of Dachser’s new subsidiary in Ireland.
   Primarily focusing on the shipment of dangerous goods and warehousing services for customers in the Irish market, Johnston Logistics has also been serving the United Kingdom, thanks to three hazardous chemicals partner locations in England.
   Dachser Logistics is the U.S. subsidiary of Germany-based Dachser SE, specializing in import and export activities via air and ocean between Europe, Asia and South America.
