CMA CGM raises rates, peak season fees

CMA CGM raises rates, peak season fees    CMA CGM said Wednesday it plans to raise rates on a number of trades from mid-August through mid-September.
   The increases are:
   ' $200 per 20-foot container and $400 per 40-foot container from Pakistan and India to northern Europe and Mediterranean ports, effective Aug. 14.
   ' $200 per TEU from Asia to South Africa and the east coast of Africa, effective Aug. 15.
   ' $250 per TEU from Asia to Med ports, effective Sept. 1 (the line also raised rates on this trade by $250 per TEU on Aug. 1).
   ' $560 per 20-foot container and $800 per 40-foot and 40-foot high-cube container from Asia to the Caribbean, effective Sept. 1.
   ' $600 per 20-foot container and $1,200 per 40-foot and 40-foot high-cube container from Asia to the east and west coasts of South America, Central America, and Mexico, effective Sept. 1.
   ' 100 euros per 20-foot container and 180 euros per 40-foot and 40-foot high cube container from Europe to West Africa, effective Sept. 1.
   ' $200 per 20-foot container and $400 per 40-foot container from the Middle East to northern Europe and Med ports, effective Sept. 10.
   ' $150 per TEU from India to the Middle East and East Africa, effective Sept. 15.
   ' $150 per 20-foot container and $200 per 40-foot container from northern Europe to India and Pakistan, effective Sept. 15.
   ' $100 per TEU from the U.S. East Coast to Australia and New Zealand, effective Sept. 15.
   CMA CGM also said it will assess a 175 euro per TEU peak season surcharge on shipments from northern Europe to the Caribbean and the west coast of South America, effective Aug. 15, and a $100 per TEU peak season fee from Asia to Med ports, effective Aug. 22.
   Finally, the French line said it will be following guidelines from the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement to seek eastbound transpacific peak season surcharges of $320 per 20-foot container, $400 per 40-foot container, $450 per 40-foot high-cube container and $510 per 45-foot dry and reefer container, all effective Aug. 15.
