DLA renews warehousing, distribution contract with PWC Logistics    The U.S. Defense Logistics Agency has renewed for a second year a potential five-year contract with Kuwait-based PWC Logistics to provide warehousing and distribution services to the DLA in Kuwait and Southwest Asia.
   Under terms of the deal, PWC Logistics handles more than 70,000 different items and supports DLA operations both regionally and globally from its existing Kuwait facility with more than one million square feet of both climate-controlled and outdoor storage space.
   PWC also provides asset tracking, packing for ground and air transportation, and information technology development and implementation support. The five-year contract, awarded to PWC Logistics in August last year, is worth up to $180 million if all the one-year option periods are completed.
   PWC is also a subcontractor to a consortium of engineering companies that was recently selected as one of three preferred contractors by the U.S. Navy to provide support services to reconstruct civilian infrastructure in response to natural disasters or damage from conflicts around the world. The consortia are responsible for arranging the delivery of equipment, material and labor to assist the Navy in providing humanitarian relief.
