Sahil aims to make its mark in India-U.S. forwarding market Indian privately owned freight forwarding company Sahil Freight Express said this week it is planning to tap into the growing India-U.S. project cargo trade.
   The company, which has eight locations in India, has undertaken project cargo shipments between China and India and said the market is ripe for connecting India and North America.
   'Our objective is to aggressively promote our track record of success in implementing cost effective solutions from loading to discharge anywhere in the world,' Managing Director Suhail Shaikh said in a statement. 'There are more opportunities that need to be tapped and we have access to specialist equipment to transport heavy lift cargos along with extensive experience in air and sea chartering, customs clearance and warehousing.'
   Sahil recently transported a number of breakbulk consignments of construction equipment to a new steel plant in China. The project required transport from India to Shanghai and then forwarding to the job site at Jiangyin, the company said. Other recent projects include the transportation of overdimensional equipment for the petrochemical industry.
   'We believe there is growing demand for 3PL services to and from India,' Shaikh said.
