Security zones established around Port of Miami The U.S. Coast Guard has established temporary security zones at the Port of Miami to increase security for the Super Bowl and a visit by a U.S. Navy vessel.
   One security zone will be in effect on the north side of Dodge Island, where the port is located, from 9 a.m. Friday until 5 p.m. Feb. 10. That zone is set up for a visit by the 'USS Gridley.'
   Another security zone will be set up in the turning basin east of Bicentennial Park 4:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday.
   Vessels seeking to enter the security zone and vessels located within the security zone as it becomes effective will be subject to a security screening by Coast Guard law enforcement.
   Non-military vessels within 500 yards of a naval vessel must proceed at no-wake speed and may not come within 100 yards of a naval vessel, whether underway or moored, unless authorized by an official Coast Guard or a Navy patrol.
