EL AL selects ECS as Italian cargo agent

EL AL selects ECS as Italian cargo agent EL AL, Israel's national airline, has appointed European Cargo Services as its cargo general sales agent in Italy to market its freighter capacity from Europe to the United States and Asia.
   Under terms of the agreement, ECS will market the airline's Boeing 747 Freighter services to Italian forwarders to generate traffic to be trucked to Amsterdam and Luxembourg to connect with EL AL's all-cargo flights to New York (JFK), Shanghai, Seoul and Hong Kong. The airline also operates scheduled cargo services to Almaty in Kazakhstan.
   ECS said it expects to generate some 1.5 million kilograms of cargo a year for EL AL from its three locations in Italy in Rome, Malpensa and Linate.
   The two partners haves similar existing agreements in Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
