Forward Air completes acquisition

Forward Air completes acquisition Forward Air said it has completed its acquisition of certain assets of Pinch Holdings Inc. and its related company AFTCO Enterprises.
   Pinch and AFTCO are privately held trucking companies headquartered in Houston, and together generated about $35 million in revenue in 2007 compared to Forward’s revenue of $114.5 last year.
   With a regional network of company-owned and agent stations, Pinch provides expedited line haul, local cartage, exclusive use vehicles, hot shots, customs services, and pool distribution services.
   Forward Air provides time-definite ground transportation services through a network of terminals located in 85 cities on or near major airports in the United States and Canada. Forward sells them as “a cost-effective alternative to air transportation of cargo that must be delivered at a specific time, but is relatively less time-sensitive than traditional air freight or when air transportation is not economical.”
