Container traffic at all terminals of Marseilles-Fos amounted to 8 million tons in 2003, an increase of 4.2 percent.
Oil shipments at the port totaled 62.9 million tons, up 3 percent, while dry bulk traffic rose 9 percent, to 15 million tons.
The French port handled a total traffic of 95.6 million tons in 2003, its highest level since 1988 and 4 percent more than the tonnage moved in 2002.
