ST&R adds Hong Kong compliance specialist

ST&R adds Hong Kong compliance specialist    Customs and trade law firm Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg has brought in Hong Kong-based John Kwak, a former U.S. Customs auditor with experience in regional customs and accounting issues, as vice president of customs consulting and compliance for the firm.
   Kwak will be responsible for providing advice on a range of customs issues, including first sale engagements, compliance assessments, customs audits and planning, prior disclosures, and internal control and process improvement reviews.
   ST&R and its affiliated consulting company, Sandler & Travis Trade Advisory Services Inc., have 12 offices in North America, South America and Asia.
   Prior to joining ST&R, Kwak was regional senior manager, Asia Pacific, for a major accounting firm. He is a member of the American Association of Exporters and Importers and the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
