NOL makes Middle East appointments

NOL makes Middle East appointments    Neptune Orient Lines, the Singapore-based container shipping, terminals and logistics group, has made a number of appointments in the Middle East region.
   Gene Seroka has been named vice president for the Middle East region responsible for NOL's overall management of APL, APL Terminals and APL Logistics from the group's regional headquarters in Dubai. Seroka, who was APL Logistics' vice president for Asia-Middle East and South Asia, will replace Ong Tuen Suan who has relocated to Singapore to take a senior corporate finance position.
   Komol Roongruangyot has been appointed managing director for the United Arab Emirates and head of Middle East logistics. He was director of APL Logistics in Thailand.
   Ajit Jangle has been appointed managing director for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, overseeing container shipping and logistics activities, and tasked with building up the terminals business in those markets. Jangle was based in Dubai as director of logistics for the Middle East. He replaces Ted Muttiah who became managing director for Egypt in February.
   'These key appointments indicate the growing status of the Middle East as a trading power,' said Thomas Held, NOL president and chief executive officer. 'They will help us to be well placed to capitalize on the many growth opportunities this diverse region offers.'
