Exel names promotes three executives

Exel names promotes three executives Logistics company Exel said William F. Meahl has been promoted to chief operating officer of DHL Exel Supply Chain globally. Exel is part of Deutsche Post World Net.
   Meahl will be responsible for an initiative to increase customer satisfaction, risk management, safety, customer management, marketing, external communications and business development.
   He had been chief executive officer of DHL Exel Supply Chain Americas since 2007 and previously served as CEO of contract logistics. He has been with the company for 26 years and resides in Hingham, Mass.
   John Gilbert will take Meahl’s job as CEO of DHL Exel Supply Chain Americas. Gilbert was president of the company’s consumer and life sciences Americas business units for nearly five years and was recently named head of DHL Exel Supply Chain’s global consumer organization. He joined Exel in 1994 and resides in Columbus, Ohio.
   Scott Sureddin will succeed Gilbert. He joined Exel in 2002 and was most recently senior vice president, operations, for the consumer business unit. He lives in Flower Mound, Texas.
