Rickmers-Linie sets up U.K. agency

Rickmers-Linie sets up U.K. agency    Rickmers-Linie has established a liner agency company in the United Kingdom, the Hamburg-based breakbulk, heavy lift and project cargo carrier said Monday.
   The agency has been set up with Escombe Lambert Holdings, with offices in London and Middlesbrough. Rickmers previously had an agency arrangement with Middlesbrough-based OceanExpress.
   “OceanExpress Ltd. has been an excellent agent, especially developing the parcel business out of the U.K. via Antwerp,' said Gerhard Janssen, sales and marketing director, Rickmers-Linie. 'OceanExpress will continue to offer this service in the future as a customer of Rickmers-Linie. We are very pleased about the cooperation with the company since 2005.
   “Having said this, we need to focus on the global market and get closer to those companies managing major projects out of the U.K., which is why we have chosen to establish Rickmers-Linie Agency Ltd. together with Escombe Lambert Holdings.”
