Bail denied in alleged JFK Airport bomb plot

Bail denied in alleged JFK Airport bomb plot A judge in Trinidad has turned down a request for bail from a man accused of participating in a plot to bomb John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.
   Judge Prakash Moosai denied the request by Abdul Kareem Ibrahim, saying the charges were too severe. A hearing on a U.S. request for extradition is scheduled for Aug. 2.
   Ibrahim is one of four people alleged to have plotted to blow up a pipeline and tank farm holding jet fuel at the airport. He and two other suspects — Abdul Kadir, a former member of the Guyanese parliament, and Abdel Nur — are imprisoned in Guyana. Also charged in the case is Russell Defreitas, a former cargo handler at Kennedy who is in jail in the United States.
