Thai Airways selects ECS as French cargo sales agent    Thai Airways has appointed ECS Aero Cargo International, a member of the European Cargo Services group, as its exclusive general sales agent in France.
   From Paris, Thai Airways operates daily Boeing 747-400 passenger services with about 16 tons of bellyhold cargo capacity. It will also soon start a three-time-a-week B747-200 freighter service from Paris to Bangkok.
   The airline expects to carry more than 7,000 tons of cargo each year on both its passenger and all-cargo services out of France. Major export commodities from France to Thailand include automotive parts, electronic components and cosmetics.
   'Thai Airways is a highly respected airline that has a strong commitment to the French market. Its decision to lease a Boeing 747 freighter aircraft and operate this from Paris before any other route reflects the importance and potential of the air cargo market here. This is an exciting challenge for us,' said Adrien Thominet, managing director of ECS Aero Cargo International.
