Speed Transportation acquires neighbor G&W

Speed Transportation acquires neighbor G&W    Domestic and international freight forwarder Speed Transportation Inc. has acquired fellow Buffalo, N.Y.-based G&W International Forwarders Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
   G&W specialize in exporting ocean freight to the Far East, Europe and South America.
   “The acquisition of G&W coincides with the increased demand for Speed’s services, and our plans for international expansion beyond Canada,” said Carl Savarino, president of Speed Transportation.
   G&W will continue operations as a wholly owned subsidiary of Speed Transportation. G&W’s founder and former owner, Bob Wischman, will remain on the board of G&W assisting new president and chief operating officer Mike Diati.
