Maersk Line to end ME2, restructure Middle East, South Asia loops    Maersk Line will before the end of the year drop its weekly Europe/Mediterranean/Indian subcontinent ME2 service “in response to changing customer requirements and market conditions in the trades between West and Central Asia and Europe.”
   In November, the Danish mega-carrier said it would add an eastbound call in Jeddah to its existing ME1 loop as well as changing the port rotation in northern Europe to improve transit times into Rotterdam. At the same time, additional eastbound calls at Colombo and Salalah to its Asia/Europe AE9 service will be made.
   “The key feature of the revised services is improved transit times from direct load ports in the Middle East and South Asia to the main northern European destinations,” Maersk Line said.
