Scott E. Arvidson has been promoted to executive vice president and chief information officer of KCS, and executive vice president and chief operating officer of The Kansas City Southern Railway Co. (KCSR). He was senior vice president and CIO.
Warren K. Erdman has been promoted to executive vice president corporate affairs of KCS. He was senior vice president corporate affairs.
Larry M. Lawrence has been promoted to executive vice president and assistant to the chairman of KCS, from senior vice president strategies and staff studies and assistant to the chairman.
Arthur L. Shoener remains president and chief operating officer of KCS and president and chief executive officer of KCSR. As chief operating officer of KCSR, Arvidson will be the No. 2 executive at that subsidiary.
In addition, William H. Nolen has been promoted from vice president transportation to senior vice president operations for Kansas City Southern de Mexico, S.A. de C.V., succeeding Manuel Zulaica, who has left the company. Nolen will report to Jose Zozaya, president and executive representative of KCSM.

Its primary U.S. holding is KCSR, serving the central and south central U.S. Its international holdings include KCSM, serving northeastern and central Mexico and the port cities of L'zaro C'rdenas, Tampico and Veracruz, and a 50 percent interest in Panama Canal Railway Company, providing ocean-to-ocean freight and passenger service along the Panama Canal.
