Sea Star to use Tideworks operating systems in Jacksonville, San Juan

   The container terminal operating system provider Tideworks Technology said Tuesday it has been selected by Sea Star Line, LLC, to implement its suite of solutions at its Jacksonville, Fla., and San Juan, Puerto Rico, terminals.
   Sea Star will use Tideworks’ solutions under a fully hosted model, as the carrier seeks to update the terminals’ technology, streamline processes and boost customer service levels.
   “We’re confident that our comprehensive solution and service offerings will enable Sea Star’s terminals to increase operating efficiency and provide a seamless transition under a known total cost of ownership,” said Michael Schwank, president of Tideworks Technology.
   The project includes implementation of Tideworks’ Mainsail Vanguard, Spinnaker Planning Management System, Traffic Control, and GateVision products. In addition, Tideworks will provide its managed EDI service, known as EDI Porter, enabling Sea Star to exchange information with its trading partners and other enterprise systems. The IT infrastructure supporting the TOS will be hosted at Tideworks’ data center.

   Tideworks will also provide professional services to ensure a smooth transition process and support of the systems after implementation, including a business process analysis and site assessment at each of the terminals, and integration services for the exchange of critical data between the terminal operating system and other business critical systems.
