The port said transshipped tonnage was down 5.1 percent thanks to upgrading work on one of the gates of the Fran'ois I lock, which limited the crossing of container vessels during the first three quarters of the year.
The port handled a total of 75 million tons of cargo in 2006, roughly the same as the year before.
