Deutsche Post issued a statement that Zumwinkel “responded in detail to the authorities in charge with respect to the allegations against him and has returned to his home,” adding Zumwinkel and the entire board of management “is fully functional and continues its business as usual.”
The Web site of Der Spiegel quoted a spokesperson for the public prosecutors office in Bochum as saying Zumwinkel and other unnamed persons were being investigated over possible tax evasion.
