IAG Cargo expands Cargo Connector service to Washington Dulles Airport

The airfreight carrier will deliver freight shipments from the aircraft directly to the freight forwarder’s facility under its Cargo Connector service, IAG Cargo said in a statement.    Airfreight carrier will trial its Cargo Connector service at a tenth location on its fife-year anniversary, the company announced.
   The Cargo Connector service will be offered at Washington Dulles Airport (IAD) starting in October 2017, with three flights out of the airport daily. The service operates as an export collection and import delivery by delivering cargo from the aircraft directly to the forwarder’s handling facilities, the air carrier stated. Cargo typically arrives from London Heathrow and Dublin and carries goods including medications, chemical products and machine parts. As a result, IAG Cargo expects aircraft parts and medicine exports will benefit from this service.  
   “Cargo Connector has been an important competitive differentiator for us and has been a huge success in the North American market and beyond. Offering the service at Washington Dulles Airport will benefit forwarders by making it easier to get goods to market quickly and with maximum ease,” said Joe Le Beau, vice president of IAG Cargo North America.
   All airlines within IAG Cargo are integrated with the Cargo Connector service, including Aer Lingus and IAG’s latest operation, LEVEL. In North America, IAG Cargo currently offers the service in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Seattle, Houston and Miami.
