No immediate ruling in FMC-SoCal ports truck suit A federal district judge in Washington D.C. decided Friday to hold off any immediate decision on the Federal Maritime Commission's request for an injunction against portions of the Southern California port's truck re-regulation program until early next year.
   Judge Richard Leon said he would make no out of hand snap judgment in the case, citing the highly complex nature of the case.
   Leon ordered the two sides back to court on Dec. 17 to continue arguments. Attorneys for the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles and the FMC will be allowed to provide additional documentation until Dec. 17, but may present no new evidence.
   The judge also allowed a motion by the National Industrial Transportation League and the National Association of Waterfront Employees to join the case as 'friends of the court.'
