Emirates to join TSK Line’s Hercules service    Emirates Shipping Line said today that it will take slots on the weekly Far East/Indian subcontinent Hercules service of NYK-subsidiary Tokyo Senpaku Kaisha Ltd. (TSK Line), effective Aug. 1.
   TSK Line started the service earlier this month after merging two former loops — the Japan/Indonesia Southern-Cross Service and the Straits/India/Pakistan South Asia Express.
   The Hercules service uses six vessels of 1,500 to 1,800 TEUs and has a full port rotation including Tokyo, Shimizu, Omaezaki, Nagoya, Kobe, Laem Chabang, Singapore, Karachi, Nhava Sheva, Colombo, Penang, Singapore, Laem Chabang, Keelung, and back to Tokyo.
   Emirates will only take space between the South East Asian ports of Laem Chabang, Singapore, and Penang to the Indian subcontinent.
   “Thailand today enjoys few direct services, and none which provides a westbound connection to the Arabian Gulf and Indian Subcontinent, except this service,” said Vikas Khan, Emirates’ chairman and chief executive officer.
