MSC adds Livorno to Med/U.S. service

MSC adds Livorno to Med/U.S. service    Mediterranean Shipping Co. said Monday it will add a call to the Italian port of Livorno on its MEDUSA service connecting the Mediterranean and U.S. East Coast.
   The revised rotation, from the June 24 sailing, will be Gioia Tauro, Naples, Livorno, La Spezia, Valencia, Sines, Boston, New York, Baltimore, Norfolk, Savannah, Charleston, Valencia and Gioia Tauro.
   According to American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data, the service operates with six vessels with an average capacity of 3,818 TEUs.
   The addition of the Livorno call comes two week after Zim said it will drop the Livorno calls on the Atlantic leg of its current ZCS service, which will be split into two loops in early August. The Atlantic leg calls many of the same ports as MSC's service.
