SBS Worldwide partners with Fiege on U.S./Switzerland service

SBS Worldwide partners with Fiege on U.S./Switzerland service Germany’s Fiege Logistics has appointed British ocean and air freight forwarder SBS Worldwide as a partner on its direct consolidation service between New York, Chicago and Basle in Switzerland.
   The service accepts both less-than-containerload and full containerload cargoes for air and ocean shipment.
   The announcement comes after SBS Worldwide last year opened a cargo handling facility in Edison, N.J., for all its specialist divisions.
   “Our ability to load our own airline pallets and containers at our own facility in Edison was a major factor in gaining this business and facilitated a seamless transition to SBS,” said Nick Walker, SBS Worldwide’s managing director.
   “Fiege’s strong position in Switzerland gives us excellent access to that market and its recent expansion in Eastern Europe offers our customers further routing and service options to these fast-growing economies.”
