AMB ACQUIRES TWO CARGO CENTERS AT JFK AIRPORT

AMB ACQUIRES TWO CARGO CENTERS AT JFK AIRPORT    AMB Property Corp., an owner and operator of industrial real estate in North America, has bought two large, on-airport air cargo buildings at New York’s Kennedy International Airport.
   The two facilities have a total of 426,514 square feet. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey approved the transfer of ground leases for both buildings from the Halmar Group of New York to AMB. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
   Building 77, which has 227,718 square feet and 19 truck bays, houses the Northeast headquarters for the U.S. Customs Service, as well as offices for the departments of Justice and Agriculture. Other tenants include TNT Express and D.J. Air Services.
   Building 75, which has 198,796 square feet and 44 truck bays, also houses the offices of BAX Global and North American Airlines.
   As of June, San Francisco-based AMB had a portfolio of 1,037 buildings in 27 markets across North America.
