Maersk said the sale by Dansk Supermarked of Netto Foodstores Ltd. to Wal-Mart’s Asda Stores Ltd. will generate an accounting gain of 4.6 billion Danish kroner ($760 million), though it added “total consideration and the accounting gain may be reduced dependent on the extent of regulatory remedies required in order to obtain approval from the U.K. competition authorities.”
After the deal, Dansk Supermarked continues to have 1,100 stores with 40,000 employees.
