Fletcher joins iGPS board

Fletcher joins iGPS board    Intelligent Global Pooling Systems, operator of an all-plastic plastic rental service, said former Brambles Ltd. Chief Executive Officer John Fletcher has joined its board.
   Fletcher will provide both strategic counsel and operations guidance to the company at a time of tremendous growth as more shippers convert their supply chains from wood to plastic pallets, iGPS said.
   For 27 years, Fletcher held key positions, including CEO for eight years, at Australia-based Brambles, parent company of CHEP, a large wood pallet pool operator. He also served as a non-executive member of the board of Telstra, Australia's largest telecommunications and media company. Most recently he served for six years as CEO of Coles Group Ltd., a large Australian retailer, before retiring in November 2007.
   'John's insights and knowledge gained through his extensive background in both pallet pooling and the retail industry will truly be a unique asset for our company and our customers,' said Bob Moore, CEO of Orlando, Fla.-based iGPS, in a statement.
   iGPS pallets are embedded with radio-frequency identification tags for tracking and are 30 percent lighter than wood. Started in March 2006, the company's pallets are used by a number of large manufacturers, such as General Mills, PepsiCo/Gatorade/Tropicana, Cott Corp., and Imperial Sugar.
