Kerry opens third Vietnam facility in Danang

Kerry opens third Vietnam facility in Danang    China-headquartered Kerry Logistics said Wednesday it has opened a logistics center in Danang in central Vietnam.
   The center has 9,000 square meters of space and is meant to complement the company's 62,500-square-meter center in Ho Chi Minh City and 10,300-square-meter facility in Hanoi.
   Kerry Logistics was the first foreign company to own and operate logistics facilities in Vietnam.
   'We have been operating in Vietnam as a wholly owned foreign company since 2006 and we have a comprehensive network of distribution centers and integrated logistics facilities in the major commercial centers throughout the country,' said Robert Tan, managing director, South Asia. 'Consumer demand for imported products is also growing and our investment in a nationwide distribution network will support this growth. From a regional point of view Danang will support our growth across South East Asia.'
   Kerry operates an ASEAN cross-border trucking service, Kerry Asia Road Transport (KART), which connects Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia with door-to-door service. KART connects to a nationwide network within China at the company's hub in Kunming.
