VF Corp. signs APL Logistics to consolidate ocean freight

VF Corp. signs APL Logistics to consolidate ocean freight    VF Corp., a major manufacturer of apparel, has contracted with APL Logistics to provide ocean freight consolidation and other supply chain services.
   APL Logistics offers end-to-end monitoring applications for handling inventory. Specifically for VF Corp., the company will provide visibility through 'See Change,' its proprietary information technology system that integrates supply chain data from any source.
   APL Logistics will also handle electronic data interchange, bar code scanning and label printing for VF Corp.'s products, which reach consumers in 150 countries and include such clothing brands as Lee, Wrangler, Nautica, Vanity Fair, and The North Face.
   Based in Oakland, Calif., APL Logistics is a unit of Neptune Orient Lines (NOL), a logistics and transportation company that has its headquarters in Singapore.
