CIRCLE GOES DOMESTIC

   San Francisco-based forwarder Circle International said it will offer
dedicated intra-U.S. forwarding services in its 52-office U.S. network for the first time in the company’s 101-year history.
   Circle, which has been testing domestic services since July, said having
a domestic forwarding network will help it sell more international air
freight and also help the company sell U.S.-based logistics services to
shippers.
   Under the name CircleConnect, Circle will offer door-to-door,
time-definite transportation for domestic air freight shipments under three
levels of service — next business day with delivery by 5 p.m., second
business day with delivery by 5 p.m. and economy deferred, with delivery on the third or fourth business day.
